Lynx Little Pep (Sire of Lynx Little Commando)
THE LAST GREAT COWHORSE
Lynx Little Pep (imp) is a National Cutting Horse Hall of Fame Champion! He is the youngest stallion ever to receive this honor by the NCHA. Lynx's pedigree represents the finest Quarter horse bloodlines available in the world today.
Lynx Little Pep's (imp) sire was Peppy San Badger, who won the NCHA Futurity in Texas in 1977. Peppy San Badger was Reserve World Champion Cutting Horse in 1980 and AQHA world champion cutting horse that same year. Peppy San Badger sired 2150 foals. His foals have won more than thirty million dollars in the USA over the past twenty years. Western Horseman magazine recently nominated Peppy San Badger as the number one sire of ranch and working horses of all time.
Lynx Little Pep (imp) dam is Misty Lynx, by Doc's Lynx, a World Champion Cutting Horse. His Grandsire on the dam's side is Two Eyed Jack, who sired a record 110 Quarter Horse Association Grand Champions.
As a sire, Lynx Little Pep (imp) has proven to be extremely prepotent, passing along his intelligence and athletic ability, a very strong hip, flat bone, inside muscles and straight legs. Lynx Little Pep (imp) is a mirror image of both Leo San and Leo, Lynx Little Pep displays the square hip which is characteristic of the Leo line. Lynx Little Pep (imp) puts the "Leo hip" on his foals. Lynx Little Pep is the last son of Peppy San Badger still breeding in Australia.
In the years 1987 through 1995, the winning combination of Lynx Little Pep and Chilla Seeney were virtually unstoppable on the Australian Cutting Horse Circuit. In 1988 Lynx Little Pep (imp) was declared NCHA High Point Stallion for 1988. Lynx Little Pep (imp) NCHA lifetime earnings of $40,242 won during his show career was accomplished when prize money offered in Australian Cutting Horse contests was modest by today's standards.
